CYNTHIA'S HOME!!!

Yea!

My own sweetest angel went home on Sunday, Mother's Day.

She was discharged and got to spend 2 days at home before

she had to return once more to the Emergency Room due to

pain at the incision spot (uh-oh, not again!).

This time, they went directly to the ER at OHSU. While she was

there, After waiting an hour, Dr. Bartholomew (a surgical

resident) answered the page to examine . He may have

been in surgery, who knows?

It turns out that the incision site was not draining properly and

that pressure had built up. He stuck a Q-tip in and fluid started

`gushing' out. So, Dr. Bartholomew removed 4 stitches (about

3 inches). The open spot is now packed with gauze and must be

`re-dressed' every day (possibly more).

Right now she's got her recliner on `cruise control' and

is using pain meds to get by. I'm hoping to visit on May

24 after my follow-up consult with Dr. . She says I have

to go to her as she will be unable to drive for 6 – 8 weeks. I'll

let you know how she's doing after that visit next week.

In the meantime, she's been going through message after

message, after message after . . . (you get the idea). She's got

300 emails to sift through. The price one pays for being so nice

and well liked. She sends her best to all. She feels overwhelmed

with your support for her.
