Guest guest
From Ron's note, "the fear and anxiety I have taken myself through simply because I was terrified of dying." Ron, I worked as an Intensive Care Nurse for many years. One thing I learned was that no matter how strong one's faith was, the will to live was just as strong. People will fight to live until they take that final breath. It can be the best minister or the lowest street person, it doesn't matter. Of course those people who have had time to move through the stages of death and dying are more ready to die and can proceed where those who have not worked their way through the process will just not be in any way ready to die, but aside from that I am strictly speakng from a spritual aspect. Now I don't know how strong my will to live will be since I have been in the hospital a couple of time with difficulty breathing and although I am sure that neither of those times were near death experiences I did was not strong. If I had been much sicker I would have given up. Then comes the question of my faithand whether I am ready to die. This bother me all the time. Obviously I have not come to terms with this as you have. I am not afraid of dying, I worry though about where I will spend eternity. Have I lived my life the way God wanted me to, have I treated my fellow human beings the way I should have? Others would say yes, But I know the answer is no. Just studying the word and going to church was missing in my life and now I can't even remember. I am alway afraid that maybe I committed that one sin that can't be forgiven because I have prayed and prayed and I have never had that experience where you always remember the day and the hour when you first met and gave your life to Jesus. Now, don't get me wrong I don't want something horrible to happen to me so that I will always remember. And God has always been might good to me, he has answered many many prayers over the years even over the last few months. I have seen miracles happen in my own family but I still cannot believe that my faith is strong enough, just enough, good enough, etc. to get me to heaven if I were to die today so I do not believe I am ready. I need the prayers of each of you. So Ron, you wondered how we felt about death and if it keeps us awake or makes us anxious, well I for one it does. Pray for me Barb J. Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Guest guest
Barb, I just send the perfect poem for you, and for all of us, it’s subject says very Religious, but after readying this post, I think you will find it helpful. None of us are worthy of heaven, but we have to just pray about it daily, and ask God to forgive us daily, he will, even the bad stuff, if you ask and mean it from your heart., our God is loving, caring God, he loves you, and will forgive you anything you ask, but you must ask. Just like I tell everyone God has a blessing for us daily, but he won’t give it to us if we don’t ask for it. I am amazed at how God works in my life; I am so very blessed in so many ways. I am not afraid to die, however I do tell God it would be nice to raise my kids and see what being a Grandma is like, but his will not mine be done.
