Just had to share my story of cruising. I have been on a few cruises

as a MO woman. I just returned from my first postop cruise after

having had surgery 51/2 months ago. I have to tell you...what a

difference! I boarded the plane a little afraid...the memories of my

not fitting in the seat still very fresh in my mind. As I quickly

walked down the airplane aisle, I realized for the first time I was

walking EASILY down the narrow aisle! No turning to the side to get

down the aisle! As I approached my seat, my stomach tightened a

little at the anticipation of that horrid seat belt not fitting once

again. As I reached to secure my seatbelt it dawned on me that not

only did it fit, I had room to spare! I quickly dropped my laptray

into my lap to see if it too fit...and voila! It dropped perfectly,

never even touching my knees! I was astounded and laughed aloud!

It's the little things that mean so much. On the cruise ship I found

myself comfortable, dancing until the wee hours of the

night...walking back to our room holding hands, delighting in the

freedom of motion my body had once again discovered. Every night at

dinner the food was beautifully presented...yet it did not hold the

power it once held over me! I ate my protein, talked and laughed

with our table mates and found myself perfectly satisfied with what I

had chosen to eat!! The lure of the food had such little power over

me...it was amazing. I even managed to lose two pounds that week!

The week was a dream come true...a dream of romance at sea...of

enjoying my body's movement, the ability to dance all night, walk the

beaches all day...wow this surgery is wonderful. My life is truly

just beginning again...how thankful I am to Dr. Keshishian for

changing my life forever...how thankful I am to have found the answer

after all these years...life is indeed grand.

100 pounds lost but never forgotten..
