Hospital cost $20K for 3 days

Hi, y'all,

No complaint, just info: Two weeks out, and the hospital (Inova

Fairvax in VA) just caught up with me with their " estimated " bill for

$20,495. For three days (two of which were in " Intensive Care " ).

This does not include the surgeon's fee. It may not even include the

anesthesiologists' fees (though it does include anesthesia services).

And, I know that it is less than many of you may have been billed at

other hospitals.

Happily, my insurance company told me before the surgery that they

would cover 100% of the hospital costs (Dr. Elariny is not a

preferred provider under my plan, so his fees will be covered 75%).

So, far from complaining, I just want to state how grateful I am to

have been so privileged to have this coverage (GEHA/Alliance for

Federal Employees).
