Guest guest
For those of you who are interested. This came from . Hi Sarcoidians, The National Institute of Health (NIH) has a new clinical trial. Atorvastatin to Treat Pulmonary Sarcoidosis. This study will determine if atorvastatin (Lipitor), a widely used cholesterol-lowering drug, can help patients with pulmonary (lung) sarcoidosis and replace or reduce the need for patients to take steroids, such as prednisone. Clinical trials show us what works (and what does not) in medicine. They are the best way for doctors to decide what is safe and effective in treating diseases such as Sarcoidosis, etc. Participants in clinical trials can play a more active role in their own health care, gain access to new research treatments before they are widely available, and help others by contributing to medical research.
