I apologize if I sounded too heavy handed in reply to Jane.

I understand that it was her opinion, but it is unfair to the newbies and

preops without much experience to go to surgeons who do the surgery open

thinking that they are just not willing to learn the lap procedure, which is

what Jane seemed to me to be saying. Often, there are a lot of other

factors involved and I think people need to be aware of the whole situation.

I have has wls twice, once lap and once open and I feel that the emphasis

on lap surgery is completely unnecessary. I had my DS open and would not

hesitate to do it again.

I agree ! We are all different, and what is best for one of us may not

be best for another... I think you said it well...
