Fatty Liver

Hi Everybody

I'm a Newbie to this group. My name is . I've seen Dr.K

on 4-24.I had all my Labs,x-ray,EKG and Psych letter with me at my

appt. Everything was fine except my liver was enlarged and I'll need

a pulmonary function test(I recently quit smoking). My lab work

didn't show any liver problems but my tryglicerides were very high.

My question is has anybody with fatty liver had surgery?

According to info I've read, weight loss is supposed to rectify this

condition. But then on the other hand it says intestinal bypass

surgery can cause fatty liver. As you can see this is somewhat

confusing.

I just want to make sure I can have surgery. I've been dealing

with this decision for 2 yrs now. Once I made up my mind I then had to

figure out the insurance mess, I have Kaiser. What I didn't know until

a few months ago was that Medicare covers this. Thank god for this.

I just hope that my liver wont be an issue.

So please if anyone can help me with some information I'd

truly appreciate it. Also I live in Sacramento CA. and I need to

attend 2 group meetings before I could have surgery, so if there is

anyone close to this area that knows of any group meeting closer than

Delano I'd like to find out where.

I've been reading the posts for a few days now, and I'm

really touched with all the warmth and care that is shared here.

I would be truly blessed to be included in this family you all share.

If there is anything that I could do to be of any help or support to

anyone please let me know.
