Guest guest
I also noted how they quoted the figure that 1 in 500 die from measles but they didn't have any quotes of figures for adverse reactions, did they? I am still sick about this episode. Holly ----- Original Message ----- > If someone has this on tape, I'd love to find out if I heard this > correctly. The whole script > sounded as though Katz wrote it. I got vaccinated for small pox in 1974. So, it hasn't been quite 30 years! What is interesting is that when I went to Japan in 1980, I saw people with multiple small pox vaccinations. My cousin told me that Japan really goes nuts with vaccinations. If this is true, I wonder what their autism rates are? This may come into play with the idea that people are genetically predisposed to autism and the vaccine acts as a trigger. I don't watch ER so I didn't see the show. But, whatever people decide to do about vaccinations it must be informed. Nothing makes me more angry than people who don't vaccinate because they " just don't want the hassle. " Or people who do because everyone is doing it. It must be informed! We have had people in our family who died from diseases that we vaccinate for. My parents are older and have friends who died form polio or who are disabled from it. My dad's aunt died from scarlet fever. Another relative did die form measles but it was in 1872. It's very scary for me to decide what to do. My kids have been vaccinated but seems to have had autism since birth. I waited with my daughter because I already had two special needs kids and wasn't about to take my only NT child and turn her into a special needs. I did not get her vaccinated on time but she is 2 1/2 and has had almost all her shots. However, if I had another child I might not do it even as quickly as I did Libby if at all. I get more and more scared as time goes on. But, the key is INFORMED CONSENT. And I don't feel that most people are getting it.
