Guest guest
Hi All I have a little very humble request to make of everyone. It's about including ALL the previous email of a thread, when replying. I understand that for most everyone this is not a problem. When you reply to an already very long email, consisting of multiple replies to replies, your latest reply appears at the front of the new email. That makes it easy for nearly everyone who receives it to find your (possibly very short) reply, and ignore all the huge stuff that follows. However, I prefer to get my email in " daily digest " , which is one composite collected email every day or 25 messages, whichever comes first. This means that to read the latest contributions, I do a LOT of scrolling and searching, to get to the next one in a collection. This is usually not too bad, but lately (the " carbs and lactic acid " thread comes to mind) the extra previously-sent stuff for each email has become gigantic. So my request: please consider taking the extra time to go to the end of your reply and snip off any extraneous stuff. I understand that sometimes a certain amount of previous stuff is worthwhile to retain the context of the thread. But frequently it doesn't ALL have to be there. Just the previous email, to which you might be directly replying, is all that's usually needed. Please understand that it's perfectly OK by me if you don't want to do this, for any reason. If just SOME of us did a LITTLE more email " snipping " , it would cut down a lot on the considerable searching that some of us must do. Thanks in advance. Steve D.
