Hi Laurie and ,

I will certainly pass along your good wishes to and her family.

Hopefully I will have another update tomorrow evening.

Yes, that sounds great that they could do avoid the ostomy. We're

all sending good recovery vibes her way.

Take care,

Hi ,

So sweet of you to ask how I am. Overall, I am doing okay. I had Influenza A

over New Year's and was in the hospital in Philadelphia for a few days. On

the positive side, I had a great view of the New Year's Eve. fireworks from my

14th floor hospital room!

However, I am still regaining my strength from the flu a few weeks ago.

Hopefully I will be back to my baseline in a month or so. My mito doctor said it

could take 2-3 weeks just to begin to feel better. I lead a program at CHOP

for teens and young adults with chronic health problems and we had a workshop

on self-advocacy today, so I am wiped out tonight. I'm sure I will be crashing

for a few days, but hopefully will be back on my feet by mid week.

Thanks again for asking!

Hugs, Malisa

Hi Malisa,

Sorry to hear about the flu, I was wondering, did you get the flu

shot?

I know Dr. H-P, or at least the MDA clinic, tends to push the flu

shot...

Philly is a great city, but I'd rather stay there in a hotel than

hospital :)

Take care,
