Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone had an update on how Alison is doing? I have been keeping up with the posts, but I haven't seen any news. I hope someone can give us an update. Maybe Malisa or a.

This is an update on from her sister on Monday-- is still in a lot pain. She is off oxygen, epidural, and they removed the catheter today. They are still not hearing any gut sounds and they will not allow her to eat until they are there. So she continues to be on the clear liquids. She has been getting up to pee in the bathroom and we are so proud of her. She is trying to not use the PCA pump because she afraid she won't be able to pee while being on the pain meds, since her bladder muscle is weak due to the mitochondrial disease. She is really in a Catch 22, she needs pain meds, but she also wants to be able to pee. UGH! Also she was complaining the day of surgery of pain in her bladder and burning when urinating. This was all minimized and today we found after probing doctors to do a urine culture that she has another UTI and yeast. is very smart and really knows her body. As her sister I get very frustrated that they don't listen to her. Oh well we are taking it one day at a time. Keep her in your prayers. This is going to be a long hard recovery, but is tuf and if anybody can go through all this it is her. If anyone wants to send her a card you can send it via the Mc House or to her at the Cleveland clinic. ------------------------ I talked to 's mom last night very briefly and she said that was still in a lot of pain. They were worried how her pain was going to be controlled after she is discharged. But her gut is starting to move some which was very good news. Hopefully she will have good pain control soon and can go to the Mc House at some point. I'll try to keep everyone updated if I hear anything more!
