Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried chiropractic care on their autistic spectrum child? A friend suggested it might be worth a try. We have a 9yob dx Aspie who we kept drug-free(except the shots, ugh!) until late last year when his rages , OCD and depression got too bad. He's been on Paxil and is going onto Prosac now. Theyve also suggested Risperadal. We just started GFCF 2.5 weeks ago and I know these aren't GFCF so I haven't been too thrilled about that. Are there any kids on the diet who have been able to go off the drugs entirely or should I just accept that my son will always need them? I want to do what's best for him. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to get a grasp on all this still. Thank-you all. Laurie

Yes, we have used chiropractic and it has helped our son. It has made him feel better, at the very least. Love, Becky from OR

He knows he is going there and gets all excited about seeing Dr. K. She is very loving and gentle with him and he trusts her enough to allow the adjustments. She built up the trust slowly and is just wonderful with him. As for benefits, it is hard to say, but I know that I always feel better when I go to the chiropractor regularly, so I can assume that he does too. The fact that he likes going there is also a good sign. If he had more language I would be able to tell you what he feels, but I guess we will just have to wait for that. Just know that he does say " Wanna see Dr K? " every week. Moira Mom to Vico (4 ASD) and Culzean (10 months)
