Hi,

We just started the diet about 1 week ago (working with a

nutritionist who dragged me to this point kicking & screaming!) My

son is 5 and has been developmentally delayed & autistic from birth.

I am wondering if anyone else has a child like this who was helped by

this diet. It seems from what I've read that it helps children who

develop typically and then regress, but I've not read anything about

it helping children like my son. (can you tell I'm trying to weasel

out of doing this?) Is there any research being done on this?

Any websites or info would be appreciated!

I have a couple other questions -- how did you get your children to

drink a milk subsitute? My refrigerator is packed full of rejected

brands. I have even tried making it chocolate (against my

nutritionists advice) and no luck. I wouldn't worry about it but I

don't know how else I'll get calcium in him...and I'd rather he not

drink juice all the time which is what he does now that we have

removed milk as an option...

Also we are starting a liquid form of Super Nu Thera which my son is

not amused by. It has turned into a battle trying to get this in his

mouth (and I wear most of it!) This is flavored with a strong

coconut flavor and I can't think of anything my son would eat or

drink that I could hide this stuff in.... Any ideas? I am also

starting cod liver oil in another week - is this just as bad?

Thanks for any advice you can throw my way!

Donna
