I spoke to Malisa around 2:00pm today and she just got back from the OR. She was

groggy so I told her i would check back with her later. I had some errands to

run and just now got to my computer.

She said they were suppose to pull the line last night but they didn't do it

until this afternoon. Don't know why....maybe her fever shot back up again.

Hugs,

Ann-Marie

Update on Malisa

I was just able to check Malisa's caringbridge site for today. It seems

that she hasn't had the line pulled yet. This is what her mother had

written:

Malisa is having a little time out in Boston at New England Medical

Center. Seems she has yeast in her TPN line (Brouviac catheter) and will

need it replaced.

This will be done later today.. Hopefully her fever will stay in the low

100;s today. Fever should be gone compltely and quickly, once the line is

pulled. A triple lumen temporary superficial IV line also is planned to

be placed in her chest wall today. This will stay in place for a couple

of weeks and then it also will be replaced with a new permanent Broviac

(double lumen) at U of P hospital

Her friend, Schwenk happened to be in Boston seeing Dr. Korson and

shehas been visiting with her and of course Malisa is watched over

closely by Dr. Korson and mighty mito team.

I needed to come back home today so,since I'm not with her, prayers and

well wishes are especially appreciated from all of you.

I am sure she will appreciate all thoughts and prayers. I know she

sounded so wiped out from the fever the past couple of days. RH, I am

sure she will appreciate your gift!

Smiles,

a
