I cannot afford something like the VitaMix, but I do > already have a KitchenAid mixer. I know KitchenAid sells a grain grinder > attachment. Any recommendations?? I don't know about that, but the only fancy device I use is my Grain Master Whisper Mill. I searched archives of celiac lists for grial mill reviews and it came out ahead. It is expensive but really worth it for me. I don't use a breadmixer and my regular mixer is a sturdy hand one, but the mill was invaluable. It's pricy - usually $250.00 but you can find it online sometimes for $220. I found an advert for that and then my local HFS matched the price. It will do baby fava beans (not the big ones) and so I now make my own garbfava flour as well as white and sweet rice flour and soy flour. If his diet ever expands I'll try other beans and popcorn flour for breading. It is loud (but apparently less so than mose) but I only grind once every couple months and store the flours and mixes in big glass jars I got from a university cafeteria. No cross- contamination fears, and buying grains and beans in bulk makes a huge price difference. I would save up till I could get one rather than try anything else. jan
