Guest guest
Hi Laurie and , Glad you are both home safe and sound. Sure is good to hear that the food was better tasting and you could eat the food this year. Last year was a mess when it came to the food. I guess they listened to those who complained about the food last year. A Doctor believing that Mito has some type of influence in autoimmune disorders does not surprise me. I always thought there was some kind of connection and all of our discussions here told us alot of Mito patients also suffer from an autoimmune disorder. This information will open alot of doors. I hope you have the information in your notebook b/c I am very interested in knowing more. But first catch up on your rest. Sorry to hear that your power wheelchair suffered so much damage on the flights. Is it repairable or would it be cheaper to replace the chair? Wouldn't it be nice if we all could own a second hand or a cheaper model/type of wheelchair that we can travel with and take on the planes without worrying too much about the damage that happens to it? I hope the airline allows you to have a rental while you chair is in for repairs. It sounds like you had a very nice time and I can't wait to hear more about the conference. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, sorry I missed your call at the hotel. By the time I realized I had a message, it was after midnight. Glad to hear you're both home safely and enjoyed the conference. I'll have to show you my pics of the arch one of these days. It was quite an amazing site. Guest guest
Laurie. I'm sorry your powerchair suffered so much damage. As you know. My scooter was lost on the way out and boy did that present complications. I'm glad it was straightened out. My trip home was almost flawless. I am beyond exhauster and extrtmly dizzy. Have to wonder if high altitude plays a roll in this. I agree that they served great food but I had to pass on the deliciouus looking desserts which wasn't often easy. Dr Cohen didn't recognize me but I never found out why. I am ging to try to get rest for a few days because I have another conference iin DC to attend on June 29 and over the weekend of July 4th. I'm going to have to be prepared with a speech for that one. Sorry I wasn?t for Friday night. It was too overwelming to ad lib. Guest guest
Alice, your speech was fantastic ! We are all so proud of you. You are obviously very deserving of the award. I am sorry you had to pass on the desserts. I enjoyed them very much and even Dr. Haas asked later if I got to enjoy my dessert because I had commented on how much I enjoyed them. I am someone who NEVER keeps treats in the house...not to mention great desserts, so after being in the hospital for 7 days without solid foods I was THRILLED to have them. I thought the food and hotel were great choices. Not being in a wheelchair however, I don't face some of the obstacles that I'm sure others delt with. It sure seemed as though there were a lot of stairs. It was wonderful meeting you finally, bug
