Guest guest
We used the door covers for a while; then DD worked them out!!! She could open them more easily than we could! Margaret
Guest guest
Thank God he was o.k. My friend's daughter who was 3 at the time wandered off last winter during the day when her Mom was in the shower. All she had on was a t-shirt and a diaper. It was right before X-mas so it was cold and there was snow on the ground. When her mother went looking for her (and 2 other people) they found her 10 feet away from a pond near their house stuck in a thorn bush. Don't feel bad because your not the only one. Guest guest
Does anyone else out there have a toddler with autism who wakes up punctually at 3 am to play? My son does this pretty often and last week, he escaped from my house. A guardian angel must have been looking out for him because a man, I do not even know who he is, came to my door which was open and knocked on it to wake me up. My son was in the middle of the road, clad in only a diaper and t-shirt. I was so scared when I saw him that I ran of the house in just my pajamas, no shoes. He had his animal figures all around him and he was oblivious to the traffic swerving to avoid him. I don't know who the man was that saved but I thank him in my heart. He vanished before I could say thank you. I now have a chain lock on my door in addition to the bolt lock. Has anyone else had a close call like this? I live in a apartment surrounded my water because I live off the bay and I am so lucky chose the street instead of the water. I am so thankful!!! This may not work for other children though if they are into figuring that kind of stuff out, but it has been great for us.

It does stay up all night long during sleeping time. We also have bars on his windows as a safety precaution to make sure if he ever decides to get adventurous, he won't fall out the window. They screw into the window but have a metal piece to pull out and they swing open in case of an emergency and you need to get out those windows. Guest guest
Hi, My son use to do the same thing. I was scared something like that would happen to my son. So glad to hear you had an angel watching over him. What I did the first time my son got up at 3 am and I found out about it, I went to the local Radio Shack and bought a $20.00 alarm that is battery operated and sounds a loud alarm when ever the door is opened. I put it on his bed room door and the main doors. When the alarm is off it makes a nice ding dong sound. The whole system can be costly but I just bought it in pieces with the main unit costing $30.00. It has truly been a life saver for us. Have a great day!
