Guest guest
> > What is PICA? > Pica is eating non-food items. My son would eat dirt, glass, feces, paper, wood, lots of stuff like that. When we started supplimenting him with zinc and the Super Nu Thera this behavior went away - thank God! Plus we worked with him using the phrase " That's not food! " It was easier than saying " Don't eat dirt. Don't eat wood. " etc. I think part of this is a stim thing and part of it could be a mineral or vitamin deficiency and part of it could be a gluten search. I think that when we went GFCF totally our little guy was trying to eat the rabbit poops at school because it may have had some gluten in it - oats or bread or something in the rabbit food. Anyway - that behavior is behind us now. Just an interesting side note, they can't X-ray for glass in your body because it doesn't show up on the X-ray. You just have to wait and see if your kid is in pain or if their tummy swells up. That was a fun three days.
