Guest guest
Since several people have mentioned hand/arm weakness and difficulty writing, I wanted to add that I am now using Dragon Naturally Speaking 8 for email and note taking, as well as " real " writing. It is working even better than I had hoped and a great alternative for those with limited arm function. The Professional Edition I have retails for $800 but we found it for $625. It does require substantial PC horsepower, so check hardware requirements before purchasing. Training has gone very fast, much easier than I expected. The accuracy rate for version 8 has gone way up from 7 and older versions, so if you were frustrated before, you may not be now. The Professional version interfaces with all Windows and Office applications with no problems. I am SO glad I tried it. It has opened up all kinds of possibilities. I have weakness in my hands as well. When I was in high school, it was hard to hold a pencil on some days. I was going to PT at that time, so she gave me some exercises for my hands as well. That helped and I haven't had that weakness for about 10 years. Now I am starting to get it back again, but find it is when I am tired or overly fatigued or going into a crash. It is like the fingers just don't want to do what my mind is telling them to do! I hope you continue to feel better.
