Guest guest
I understand your hesitance at surgery, especially if Dr. Ponseti disagrees. I did not mean to offend you..although tone is often hard to catch on the internet, so I am not for sure if I did offend you. I wrote what I wrote to make sure that Dr. Frick's reputation does not get harmed, not to belittle Grace's condition. I did not mean to offend you if I did. That really was not my intention at all. I understand that Grace's clubfeet are more complex than average. I just wanted to make sure that people, especially the people in NC, know that he is a good doctor. Some new parents might read the recent emails about him and think that he's not the best in the area and go to the other Charlotte/NC MDs, which is a very bad idea (b/c the other doctors around here are not true and educated Ponseti doctors, IMO). I am assuming that if Dr. Frick says he has operated on several children with good results, but Dr. Ponseti says otherwise then maybe, Dr. Frick has experienced mixed results. Maybe sometimes the surgery is enough and sometimes it is not. I know that still doesn't ease your mind though. Maybe you should ask him, maybe he doesn't know and maybe he could learn something more from it. I know you are frustrated. It must be a heart- wrenching decision to make with so many " what-ifs. " I can't imagine the weight of the choices you have to make. I wish all 3 doctors agreed and I know you wish the same. Since they don't, maybe you should go to Dr. Ponseti himself, if that is who you trust the most. I guess that is the real answer to your dilemma...listen to whoever you absolutely trust the most. Unless you don't agree with them. (Wow, I couldn't be any less helpful could I? ) Regardless, you are being very assertive and vigilant in getting to the bottom of this. It is good to make doctors support their opinions/diagnosis with actual facts and rationals. Surgery phobic internet crazed momma or not, you are doing an excellent job of getting the best care possible for Grace. I hope everything pays off for her (and you). Freeman Surgery phobic internet crazed momma or not, was a joke attempting to make you smile!
