Guest guest
Yes, give him the probiotics now. You can also attack the yeast with colostrum and/or natural yeast fighter blends available from the HFS and from Kirkman Labs. Guest guest
Is there a certain brand to use and how long do you give it to your child? Is there side effects from it as well? Also I didn't know that colostrum was a natural yeast fighter. Good info. Thanks MA
Guest guest
, Have you read Dr. Shaw's book on Biological Interventions for Autism and PDD? This book explains about the correlation between Yeast and Antibiotics. It's not enough to give probiotics when your child takes an antibiotic. Your child need to be on an antifungal diet and probably Nystatin. has a bad reaction to antibiotics and we were faithfully giving him the probiotics. This wasn't enough, because the Yeast is just too big of an issue. I think that you will find that if you get your child on an Antifungal diet and get started on a good course of Nystatin, you will see your child recover from this reaction alot mor quickly. Also, Dr. Shaw gives some good ideas for avoiding the use of Antibiotics, esp. for ear infections. He states in his book that in Holland they don't even use antibiotics for ear infections. As for the strep, he reccommends that if you must administer an antibiotic, the safest way to do it is by an injection. This way you aren't attacking the good flora in the intestines and feeding the Yeast. Take it from me. Whenever has to take an antibiotic, it's always the same story... He gets very Hyper and has a rash that literally EATS THE SKIN OFF OF HIS BOTTOM. But still, the Dr. will look me in the eye and say " that's NOT yeast " and you " CANN0T PROVE THAT THE ANTIBIOTIC HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RASH. " I would ask your nutritionist if he/she if familliar with Dr. Shaw since he's been studying this problem for many years. Another thing that you could do that might help the bad reaction is give your child some Alkaseltzer Gold or Charcoal tablets.
