Guest guest
* Vegetable oil is usually a soy, so if you have to avoid soy just stay with the olive and/ or corn On Tue, 6 Feb 2001 23:15:18 EST pammil@... writes: > What type of oil should we be using on a gf/cf diet. Guest guest
Safflower oil, olive, corn oil, canola oil, soy are all gfcf. A lot of mothers alternate the oils so that their child does not build up an intolerance for one. Betty ----- Original Message ----- > What type of oil should we be using on a gf/cf diet. Guest guest
I use walnut oil, corn oil, olive oil and sunflour oil. Vegetable oil is a no-no for those following a soy-free diet. Same thing with corn if you are following a corn free diet. On Tue, 6 Feb 2001 23:15:18 EST pammil@... writes: > What type of oil should we be using on a gf/cf diet. Guest guest
Can you use any of these oils equally (in equal amounts) and do they change the taste of a recipe (in other words, how do you know which recipe a certain type of oil would be ok for) or does it not matter. Does that Q make sense? M. Re: Oil for salads and cooking > Safflower oil, olive, corn oil, canola oil, soy are all gfcf. Guest guest
Sunflower is bad if you have a yeast issue. We are rotating safflower, olive, coconut and palm. Guest guest
I think olive oil would be the one to change taste more than any of the others. The other oils can be exchange in equal amounts. Guest guest
Does anyone know if olive oil is interchangeable in all recipes that call for vegetable oil? I made brownies and used olive oil instead of canola oil and they turned out fine. We started doing this when our one child refused to eat anything but bread, and we were trying to get more fruit into him. Lis

Guest guest
I think Olive oil is fine. I would use extra light olive oil for baking though- it has a lighter taste. Pam
