The Nystantin I was giving made him bonkers. I felt like all his

old awful habits had returned. I stopped giving it to him yesterday and

he's a little better today, but still not his old self at all. I have a

call into his DAN doctor to see what else we can use. I also think he's

going through a winter regression because he was so much better about a

month ago (which is when I started the Nystantin). I just hope I haven't

done irreperable damage!

Hi :

Love that name! My sister, who happens to be my kids' biggest fan, is named

!

Now back to our regularly scheduled gross poops - my pediatrician had us

order our nystatin from Pathway and it is mixed in a stevia base...I too have

noticed some giggly behavior that isn't hugely inappropriate, but out of

character, since I upped the does from 2 ml to 3 per day (we are working up

to 4x/day). I assumed this was die off reaction and a good sign??

Hoping I am not wrong b/c we are on a roll with this kid...

Best of luck,

M

Hi ,

I definitely think that the dyes and sugar in the oral suspension could be a

problem. Also, maybe the dose was still being increased a little too

quickly. I would try it again with the stevia based suspension, but back

off on the dose again, and go even slower.

Good luck,

Okay, so you're at 6 ml. after three weeks. Is that 6 ml each dose, or a

total of 6 ml. a day? Also I want to make sure we are talking about the

same strength of the suspension. Mine says 400,000 per ml. so that would be

2 million per 5 ml. or 1 tsp. My 27 lb son took a total of three million

units per day. (1/2 tsp three times a day) My 38 lb son took a total of 6

million a day, and is now slowly decreasing. (when he was at 6 million, it

was the equivalent of 1 tsp. three times a day.) What is the total dose you

are aiming for? How much does your son weigh? Sorry for all the questions

and not enough answers!
