Guest guest
While it is still room temp. add a couple teaspoons of potato starch and stir well, then heat up. It will thicken as it heats, but keep stirring. Broth for soup/stew > Hi! > > All you experienced GFCF cooks, how would you make a broth for a soup or stew? I have a carton of GFCF vegetable broth, but I need to know how to make it a bit thicker (and still tasty) and still GFCF. I'd like to make my son chicken vegetable soup and beef stew, but he won't touch the stuff unless the broth is almost too thick to run off the spoon. > > Any help would be appreciated! > > Thanks, > > >

Guest guest
I would follow a basic recipe from a cookbook, but at the end of the cooking time, if your child can tolerate corn, mix cornstarch with water to thicken the broth or the stew. Most cookbooks give a ratio of water to cornstarch. If not, do it gradually until the desired consistency has been reached. a > Hi! > > All you experienced GFCF cooks, how would you make a broth for a soup or stew? Guest guest
I cannot use crackers for Evan any more so I put potato flakes in the soup to make it thick. I must be doing something right because he really puts it away. Betty ----- Original Message ----- > All you experienced GFCF cooks, how would you make a broth for a soup or stew?
