Guest guest
Hi: I don't think it was your imagination. Tonight my son went ballistic after eating these frookies. He was acting just like he used to a year ago. We asked him what made him sick and he said the cookies. If it was something else , I don't know what it was. It made me think back to the old days when he was like this everyday. kelly When my husband and I analyzed and re-traced our steps over the past > five days, the ONLY thing we have changed is adding the " FROOKIE " > brand Gluten/Wheat Free chocolate chip and double chocolate cookies > to Tevin's diet. We were trying to look to expand Tevin's > limited " treats " and thought that since these cookies specifically > mentioned " GLUTEN FREE " that they could be okay. > > However, now 5 days later (after seeing this regression in behaviors) > we are wondering that perhaps something is in these cookies. These > behaviors have only begun to return since the introduction of these > cookies and I am wondering if anyone else on the list have also seen > a regression in their child after eating these cookies? Is there > casein in this product? I would be very very very interested in > hearing from anyone else that have had this same experience. >
Guest guest
Hi Here is another thought on these cookies. Since they are run on the same lines as gluten/casein , certain batches might be different depending on how well they wash them. The thing is I have tried these cookies in the beginning of the diet/ Bad reaction. Lately he seems more tolerant so I tried them again/NO reaction. Last box he was screaming, crying and kicking. So either I have the wrong culprit, batches vary or it is something completely different. But remember he is telling me the cookies made him sick. Now he could not do this one year ago. kelly

Despite the cookie regression, it's encouraging to hear of such wonderful success! Congratulations and thanks for bringing this question to this list. I've been looking at the unopened box, I read the ingredients and then saw the D next to the Kosher sign. I've been trying to decide whether or not to open the box. I think I'll return it, now. Thanks again

Guest guest
I stopped buying the Frookies when I found out about my children's corn allergy. I can't remeber exactly but I think that was why I stopped buying them Anyway it's worth checking the label again. in Ohio
Guest guest
The gluten and casein free Frookies are run on the same line as their regular cookies. The dairy outside of the K means it either contains dairy or was processed on the same line that processes a product that DOES contain dairy. Hence chances of cross contamination. Anytime you see the K symbol with the D outside of it or dairy outside of the K, it either contains dairy or it may be cross contaminated. Frookies have claimed they wash their lines very throughly between runs. Your son may be very sensitive, the line was not washed as thoroughly or he may be developing another food allergy. Hang in there! Cara > In the bottom right hand corner of the box though it has a " K " with the > word DAIRY under it. Does that mean there is dairy them?? Guest guest
Hi, I called the company about these cookies on Monday and was told they were casein and gluten free. I just started giving these cookies three days ago - no reactions yet; I'm hoping they are okay because she really likes them and I get her to take her vitamins with these as a reward (only one!) . Maybe it is another ingredient that is causing the problem? Kathy

Guest guest
The Frookie cookies are on the gfcfdiet list as being GFCF with a possible cross-contamination problem. We use them occassionally without any noticable problems.
Guest guest
I thought the chocolate chip ones had casein in them and that's why we don't eat them. Check it out I think that might be the culperit.
