Even if you think it would take you a year to get up to speed with a home curriculum, I would highly suggest you consider pulling Jay from school ASAP. It sounds toxic over there at his school. We can help you-- the list homeschooling crowd, and you can join the list for homeschooling kids with autism spectrum disorders by writing to Tammy Glaser at tammyglaser798@ earthlink.net If you want to pursue legal issues with your school district, you can always do that, too--and tell them that you pulled Jay and started homeschooling him because they appeared to be endangering him at school, etc., etc. But this way you can play for time--take as long as you want with the legal case (if you still want to do it after a while--many people get into homeschooling so much that they never want to go back to any other way!).
