We eat BiAglut pasta and find it to be the closest to the semolina that we

were used to. My husband is 100% Italian and even he will eat it.

We think that Quinoa pasta is the best... but if you're sensitive to corn it

might be a problem. It's very firm and not grainy like rice pasta.

I order it online from Gluten Solutions, but some of our local stores carry

other BiAglut products so I suppose they could also carry the pasta if they

so chose.

OF " GLUTEN FREE / WHEAT FREE " PASTA PRODUCTS

OTTAWA, February 23, 2001 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is

advising consumers with sensitivities to gluten not to consume specific

Mrs. Leeper*s brand and Ancient Harvest brand " Gluten Free / Wheat Free "

pasta products imported from the United States. These pasta products

may contain varying amounts of gluten that are not declared on the

labels.

This alert is of particular concern to those individuals who suffer

adverse reactions to the specific proteins (gluten) of wheat, rye,

barley, oats and triticale.

The following pasta products have been found to contain gluten:

Mrs. Leeper*s brand Corn Spaghetti, Corn Elbows and Rice Vegetable Penne

Rigate Pasta labelled as " Wheat Free / Gluten Free " and manufactured by

Mrs. Leeper*s Inc., Poway, California.

Ancient Harvest brand Spaghetti, Linguini, Rotelle, Shells, Elbows,

Veggie Curls and Garden Pagodas labelled as " Wheat Free / Gluten Free "

and manufactured by Quinoa Corporation, Torrance, California.

These products are being voluntarily recalled by several importers and

are distributed nationally.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with these products.

CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
