Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Ellen. I'm new to this list. My son Aidan is 2 1/2 yrs. old. He is not diagnosed Autistic or PDD, but he does have speech delay and some sensory integration issues. I have the Seroussi book. From this source I started a Casein free diet since November '00, and Glutten free since January '01. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing except that he has improved. He used to be " untestable " the speech therapist said. Now he's attention span is very good, he seems to be listening and connecting better. He's gained many words, but he does not make sentences yet. He attends EI (early intervention) 3 times a week. We have an appt with a DAN! doctor in April, and I will ask his opinion about everything. I want to test him for glutten/casein intolerance and for yeast. We recently started seeing a Homeopathic doctor. He prescribed Medorinus for Aidan, also recently Aidan had a bad ear infection, high fever and lots of screaming with pain. The homeopath prescribed three different remedies depending on the symptoms.I did give him all three. I just called the manufacturer (Boiron) and I found out they're made with Lactose (15%of each pellet.) The homeopath knows we're doing GF/CF but he's not a DAN! dr and he doesn't think it's a big deal, so I know if I ask him he'll say he doesn't think GF/CF is so necessary. Does anyone use homeopathic remedies, do you know of any manufacturers that make GF/CF remedies? Also I read the message " To the Moms " and I think it's beautiful. Thanks everyone, any help will be greatly appreciated. Ellen
Guest guest
Hi , Sorry it takes me a while to answer, I only have email at work right now, and I work nights so I can't always answer right away. You might have misunderstood, my son didn't get any antibiotics, the homeopath prescribed belladonna, pulsatilla, and chamomilla. All homeopathic remedies, definitely not antibiotics. I think he never or almost never prescribes antibiotics. We did put garlic wrapped in cotton w/ some drops of Olive oil in his ears. We did give him echinacea. He got better but now it's been about three days and he's just started draining pus from his left ear, at first it was pretty green looking, then it got between yellow and green. He has no fever or pain though so I think he's fine. I talked to the homeopath, he's not worried. I will keep him on the diet, it does seem to be working. When we see the DAN! doctor I hope we get confirmation that we're doing the right thing. Thanks , Ellen
