Hi again RH,

This has helped a lot...so now I will get 'personal' (embarrasment

here)...It was my renal Doc who kept getting the urea/ammonia bloods

up high...One day in desparation I told him that I smelt like my

kids nappies used to do when they teethed as babies and the tops of

my legs etc (hang head here) had like a nappy rash (very

uncomfortable, babies have my sympathy)..All I was told was 'use

drapolene' It is when that happens that I feeel ILL, headaches stiff

neck etc..

The Lactulose you mention I have from my GP for bouts of

constipation..the label just says 'Take as required' ..

Thanks for all the help , I will take this further as they have

never found what form of Mito I have...but I do have Complex1 down

hhhhhhmmmmm as well as take statins (for many years) and complex4

deficiency but have been told this is ?nuclear gene

In babies, diaper rash is often due to a yeast infection. Have you

tried supplemental acidophilus, or eating two yogurts (make sure they

are " live culture " ) each day?

When I take the lactulose, I usually have relief of the confusion and

dementia symptoms within about 4 hours, but it can take up to 12

hours. You might want to pay attention to whether you feel better

several hours after taking the lactulose. Because the ammonia is

being taken from your body to the (gross) watery stool, you should

probably feel better before the " exit " (feel better before the

diarrhea occurs).

If you aren't getting (gross) diarrhea while on the lactulose, it

won't be reducing your blood ammonia. But talk to your GI doctor

about it, they can explain it better than me.

Take care,

RH
