Guest guest
You're in our thoughts, , I hope the days pass quickly as you wait. Sometimes I think there should be a book of ostomy jokes, although my source of humor is severe diarrhea, I definitely get a lot of humor out of that subject. I'm sure you tried cocoa butter (Brown's I think?), I'm lucky it's one of the few things that helps me. Also there are " gel bandages " (also spray bandages) that just keep the skin moisturized, although maybe too much moisture is your problem, hope you find the right combination that works for you. It seemed alternating methods of skin treatment worked well for my mom's ostomy. Take care, RH > I had a 2nd consult with the local surgeon this morning. Guest guest
, I am not sure what you have tried for the ostomy leakage, but my son has successfully used a prescriptive cream called Critic-Aid Skin Paste for the leakage around his g-tube. It has been the only product in 6 yrs that has helped prevent his skin from breaking down. The cream contains:Petrolatum and Zinc Oxide and goes on very creamy. It stays on even when your skin gets wet to help protect it. no longer requires silver nitrate sticks which we used to use to cauterize the skin around the stoma when the leakage would cause breakdown and bleeding. He used to suffer terribly beofre the doc prescribed this for him. If you need any more info on the Critic-Aid email me and i send it to you. Hope you feel better and maybe get some relief with this paste. > I had a 2nd consult with the local surgeon this morning.
