Guest guest
taro is great, it is supposed to be the most easily digested food in the world. they even make baby food poi in Hawaii where taro is from. you can find the actual taro root at asian stores. if you already do this and know how to cook it will you let me know. taro and rice crackers? Does anyone know if taro is okay if your child is soy corn gluten casein and feingold diet? also is there a brand of the thin crispy rice crackers that is free of cross contamintation? The only brand I could find in the HF stores here are Sesmark and the label says made in a plant that produces wheat products and there is no phone number or address. Thanks for any information. Guest guest
Taro is a starchy root vegetable, similar to sweet potatoes and turnips and not related to soy, corn, glutinous grains or dairy. Poi is mashed up taro, often mixed with rice, fish, etc. Usually brightly colored. I'm guessing that if feingold allows red potatoes or sweet potatoes, then taro is ok. (Whether or not your child will want to eat it is another question. But I know child with major sensory/eating issues who will eat anything - including SNT - if mixed with poi.) Try an Asian store or the Asian section of a large supermarket for more variety in rice cracker brands. (We're rice-free, so I can't help with brands, but I know our supermarket has several different varieties.) Guest guest
We ordered Taro root at Lucky's, now Albertsons. We mixed with blended fruit, yogert, and veggies for baby food. . It is a little beiger than potato, high in starch and iron. It is ugly to look at, just peal with a knife, cut small, cook(takes a while), and we always fould that putting it through the blender worked best. Or if you know some one living in or going to Hawatt, you can get it in jars ready made or it comes freeze dried also. & Garry, parents of (10 ds), (9 ds), JJ (7 ds/autism/celiac), (6 ds/ADHD/Celiac), and Esther (4 ds). All adopted.

Guest guest
Taro is great. The taro root is very easy to digest. It is sf, cf, gfcf, and as far as I know, feingold okey. We have taro on a 4 day rotation. > Does anyone know if taro is okay if your child is soy corn gluten casein and feingold diet? >
