Guest guest
Hi Your story sounds familiar. I have b/g twins born 10/22/03 and my son has bilateral clubfoot. He is currently being treated by Dr. Lehman. I am extremely pleased with my son's progress and I would highly recommend Dr. Lehman. It sounds like you are knowledgeable with the Ponseti Method, so if you have any questions about their clubfoot clinic feel free to email me privately if you would like. I met with him while I was pregnant and had a tour of the clinic. JoAnn _joannertle@..._ (mailto:joannertle@...)

Guest guest
This is reply from Dr. Ponsetti regarding Dr. Lehman. We are patients of Dr. Lewman. He seems to be very knowledgeable doctor. Dr. Wallace Lehman at the Hospital for Joint Diseases is very knowledgeable in the treatment of clubfeet and achieves excellent results. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Lehman. If you go to the web site www.global-help.org and click on " Publications " you can download a free copy of the booklet " Clubfoot: Ponseti Management " which is very informative. I.V. I am currently pg with b/g twins and recently found out via ultrasound that my son has bilateral clubfeet. I emailed Dr. Ponsetti and he informed me I could use a doctor in NYC who uses the Ponsetti method of treatment for my baby. My question is does anyone have any experience with Dr. Wallace Lehman or his affiliates? I know he has a couple of other doctors in his group. Or any positive experience with another doctor in NYC? Any info would be great. Thanks,
Guest guest
-Hi , I was just wondering why you chose to go to Dr. Herzenberg rather than the NYC doctors? Guest guest
Dear , I have been going to see Dr. Scher at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. He used to work with Dr. Lehman and started up his own clubfoot clinic at HSS in October '04. HSS is the #2 hospital in the US for orthopedics (Iowa is #1!). I found Dr. Scher through others on this site and he has been excellent. He met with me when I was pregnant. I recommend going for a consultation. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi all. I suppose this subject will give me a good entry point to this newsgroup since I have been lurking for about a month. My wife and I found out via ultrasound that our daughter has bilateral clubfoot (she is due mid-Feb). We also wrote Dr. Ponseti and he wrote back right away recommending Dr. Lehman and Dr. Scher. We are in Central New Jersey and both are in New York City. I know plenty of people travel GREAT distances to see a qualified doctor, so I don't want me make our decision of doctors seem like a problem since they are both only an hour away, but more like a choice that this group may be able to help with. We contacted Dr. Lehman first since Dr. Ponseti listed him first. He is " out of network " for insurance and we would have to pay for each visit up front and have 85% reimbursed. I also realize that isn't a bad situation, but it isn't a simple co-pay either :-) We then contacted Dr. Scher and he is " in network " so insurance would handle everything between their offices, which is much easier. My question is based upon the knowledge of both doctors, is there any reason to choose one over the other? Dr. Lehman looks like he has been doing the methond for years and anytime a hostpital department is named after you then that can't be a bad thing :-) At the same time, Dr. Scher also looks very qualified in the menthod and comes recommended by Dr. Ponseti also. He takes our insurance in-network and his hospital actually looks like it is rated higher (although I care more about his treatment personally and not the hospital itself). Any thoughts that would help if you have any knowledge of either (or both) doctors? Please respond or email me. We love this site and I am guessing we will be regular and frequent contributors. Thank you! (and Suezette) mgiven@... > > > > > > Hello! I am currently pg with b/g twins and recently found out via > > ultrasound that my son has bilateral clubfeet. Guest guest
and Suzette, Congratulations to you on your new arrival. I am expecting twins in April. I was also told via ultrasound that my son will be born with bilateral clubfoot. I live in North Jersey and have contacted Dr. Lehman also. During my call I found out that he is also not a participating provider with my insurance but Dr. Van Bosse is. He works with Dr. Lehman in the same clubfoot clinic. From what I understand, Dr. Scher was also part of Dr. Lehman's group but recently moved into his own practice. I hear good things about all of them. I was given some advice and I will tell you the same, maybe you should see Dr. Scher's office and Dr. Van Bosse/Lehman's office and after meeting with them and visiting their offices make your decision. Just a thought! > > > > > > > > > Hello! I am currently pg with b/g twins and recently found out via > > > ultrasound that my son has bilateral clubfeet.
