hi!

we took apart the crib and bought a twin size foam mattress for naomi

(11 months) to sleep on. we have it on the floor with body pillows

around it. she's been sleeping a lot better - she can roll around and

not bump into things. we also bought her some sleep sacks so that she

doesn't get tangled in the blankets anymore. the only thing that

might be a drawback is that once she decides it's time to get up, she

just crawls off the mattress to come find us...

I use the play pen but he's out growing it. I plan on putting him in the

lower bunk (with rails) pretty soon. WIth my 1st son I put his matress on the

floor.

Sleeping arrangements

Besides co-sleeping with your kids, what sleeping arrangements does

everyone have for their older clubfoot babies? kelsey is 14 months old

with her DBB and is currently sleeping in her pack and play because she

cannot manage to sleep through the night in her crib anymore. SHe has

not slept in it since she got her DBB on about 6 weeks ago. She is

doing OK in her pack and play but she is getting bigger and as it is she

can barely turn over in the pack and play comfortably. I would like to

know what everyone else does.

Zoe was still in her bassinet when she got her bar, but was only

2.5 months old, so was not yet rolling over. Maybe now that Kelsey

has had her bar for a few weeks she will be more versatile with it.

I put Zoe in her crib a couple of weeks after she got the bar and I

occasionally here her bumping it around, but she manages well with it.

Good luck.

Just curious...how is it that she has more room in the pack and play

when those are smaller than cribs? At least all of the pack and plays

around here are. They are the same width, but alot shorter than the

cribs are. is 15 months old and still sleeps pretty comfortably

in his crib. yes, it is a little more difficult for him to turn over,

but we try to discourage that as we were told to put a pillow in for

under his feet. most of the time we will check on him in the night

and he is sleeping peacefully resting his head on the pillow...little

smartee! LOL It's funny though, my oldest son, non clubfeet climbed

out of the crib at 13 months and was in a big boy bed the next day.

I wouldn't even dream of that with him not walking! Actually I

can dream of it...someday...

There is no more room in the pack and play but the sides are soft so she

doesn't wake herself up by banging into the bars. There is no way that

Kelsey would begin to sleep with a pillow under her feet. Kelsey just

can't sleep peacefully in the crib. I tried padding the sides but she

ripped that all down. She is not very cooperative with that.

At 23 months, Owen sleeps in his crib without a problem. He is able

to maneuver into whatever position he likes. And yes, he bangs up

the rails in his crib but that's part of life for now.

Maybe you could find one of those old BIG play pens at a junk store?

Gotcha! That makes sense. Sounds like you've got one like my first

one! hehe! Have fun with that one! :) LOL. I too am a bit worried

about what to do if he outgrows the crib, hopefully he will be walking

first. Is Kelsey walking yet?

Since we are late to the POnseti method, Kelsey had just begun to walk

when she had to start with the DBB full time. IN her off time, she

will take a few steps and of course, she walks in her DBB (with support

of one of those walking pus toys). She can also now climb the stairs in

her DBB. We may be trying her toddler bed soon. We'll see.

That's what I would suggest. If she's walking, I would get ready for

that toddler bed. :) Oh, I can't wait for that day!! :)

Hi Jenni,

My son is 28 months old and sleeps in a cot bed (as

they're called here in the UK anyway), that's a large

cot which converts into a toddler bed later (the sides

come off). He still bangs the shoes on the sides but

it's big enough for him to be able to roll over once

completely. He's also in a sleeping bag so he won't

get tangled up in the bedding no matter what he does.

He's been sleeping through the night for ages now, so

it's obviously ok for him.

Hope this helps,

with (*9/02)

and Alister (*9/02, RCF, Ponseti method)

We never had a problem putting him in the crib to sleep. He still seems to

fit fine in there with the DBB so either my crib is extra large or Christian

is extra small.lol

is 3 years and 5 months. He is sleeping in his toddler bed

(which is his crib with the side rail off and a small wooden rail in

it's place to keep him from rolling out. But he just in the past

couple of weeks seems like he is starting to need more room.

Actually though I changed his pillow and now he seems fine. But we

bought him a bed that will be in today. It is a full size bed on the

bottom and a twin bunk on the top. He of course will sleep on the

bottom and his brother (who has his own room) will probably sleep on

the top sometimes. He did and still does bang into the rails but

that doesn't seem to bother him. He has gotton used to it.
