Thank you very much for the good wishes. My Grandson took me to " Steak and

Shake " on Sunday before my birthday, my son and daughter-in-law took me to

" Coyote Canyon " (a buffet style steak house), I got a beautiful, minature tea

set from a girl I worked with for approx 20 years) many, many cards and e-mails.

I really missed (my son I lost in August), he was a big one about

birthdays, anniversarys, holidays and anything else he could think of to give a

gift of some kind. I cherish the last thing he gave to me, a 12 " x 6 " x 2 " Pink

Rock, he was too ill to polish it for me but he saw it in a ditch as they drove

by and told his wife to stop as he saw something for Mom, got out of the truck,

fell into the ditch and climbed back out with that dirty Pink Rock. He cleaned

it all up, but as I said he was too ill to polish it, so he had a friend bring

him and that Pink Rock over here and gave it to me. His friend carried it for

me and put it where wanted it to go. Last year my

Grandson asked his Mother if I had ever had a birthday party and she said that

in all the years she had know me I had never had a birthday party. So, Jeff

gave me a " walk-thru " birthday party lasting from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, he said that

doctors have that kind of parties all the time and since I don't have too much

room in my apartment he thought that was the best kind of birthday party to

have. He knew how to reach one person where I had worked and he had her send

out an e-mail and then called my church and told them, plus made phone calls to

the rest on his own. Again, thank you for your kind thoughts. Good Night and

Happy birthday to the both of you and thank you for your good wishes. My

Grandson took me out to eat last Saturday at " Steak and Shake " and my son

(Bill) and his wife took me out to " Coyote Canyon " (sort of like Golden Corral,

if you have that where you live, I know they have one at Spokane, Washington) at

any rate it's sort of a buffet style steak house. I enjoyed both, lasat year my

Grandson decided I should have a birthday party, he asked his Mother if she

could ever remember me having a birthday party and she said in the 19 years we

lived neighbors to her parents and during the 15 years she and my son (Bill)

were married she didn't ever remember me having a birthday party. He got in

touch with one of the girls I used to work with and she sent out an

" account-wide e-mail " for Jeff. He set up a " walk-thru " party from 7:00 to 9:00

and I had quite a turnout. He said that doctors do that all of the time and

since my apartment isn't very big that he thought that would be the best

kind of party to have. It was the first birthday party I had since I was

" sweet 16 " . I was so glad he had the party for me as I have several pictures of

(my son I lost in August) taken that day. He was big on special days, he

might not have two nickles to rub together, but he would come up with the most

fabulous gifts that one could ever imagine. The last gift he gave me was a 6 " x

4 " x 2 " pink rock. His wife and him were on their way home and in a ditch he

saw the pink rock, he told Wanda to stop and he slid down into that ditch and

climbed back out with that pink rock. He took it home and cleaned it all up for

me, but he didn't feel like polishing it, so he had her bring him over here to

bring me my pink rock. He put it by a " whirl-a-gig " right outside my door.

That was the last time I saw him when he was conscious. When my Grandson called

me and told me to see if I could get someone to bring me to St. Francis, fast as

an ambulance had just brought Uncle Dave in

with a note, in his almost lifeless hand, to contact Jeff . He said

when they told him to get to the ambulance entrance ASAP he thought he would

find me, not his Uncle Dave, especially in that condition. i got right there

and Jeff just looked up at me and shook his head and I knew then I was going to

lose . Enough of that, my three year old great-grandson's birthday was

March first, my foster-daughters birthday is March 17th and if my husband was

still living his birthday would have been March 29th. March is a good month for

birthdays. Again, thank you for the good wishes and I hope both of you had a

good birthday and that you are both much younger than me (age 69). Thank you

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes, at age 69 a person can't have too

many birthday wishes, as who knows what next year will bring. Last year my

Grandson (Jeff) had a walk-thru birthday party for me. He got a girl I used to

work with to e-mail the entire account and had a friend from my chruch to let it

be known at chuurch. He set it up from 7:00 thru 9:00 and I really had a noce

turnout. It was the first birthday party I had since my " Sweet 16 Party " . I

can really remember that one, believe it or not and it was a true surprise

party. Last year it was a " shocker " , first came a friend with sprite and 7-up,

then came the ice cream, and then the cake. By that time I figured out someone

had done something. Next my ex-daughter-in-law showed up with her parents and

gifts in hand. She told me that Jeff asked her if she knew if I had ever had a

birthday party and she told him, " not that she could remember and she had known

me since she was in second grade " . She told him

that she could remember her parents and my husband and me going out to eat and

she knew I would always get flowers for my birthday from my husband. One year

when I had been rally sick and had been on chemo I even rated roses. My son

(Bill) has gotten roses for me several times for different occasions. , my

48 year old son that I lost in August, was the big party person so when he came

with birthday decorations I thought nothing of it, until the rest started. It

was nice and I have pictures of from last year. At any rate Thanks again

Laurie. I think that all of my thinking back to last year got the best of my
