Guest guest
Groupies, I must tell you of a funny, but kind of nice experience I had the other day when I was having my hypothyroidism checked out by an endocrinologist (never seen one before dispite the 17 years of hypothyroidism and other problems. This was the idea of my mito doc). He and i talked about my hypo T and other problems, he ordered some blood tests, then at the end asked him what did he think of the possibility of this being some kind of metabolic disease. His answer " Of course it is- we just don't have the right tests for it right now. It's something going on at cellular level- probably in the mitochondria " this after years of chasing docs, some of who try to say it is all in my head, and all sorts of abnormal, if not definable test results. I just can't beleive he came out with a statement like that so easil after all my years of questing for an answer!!!, Celia
Guest guest
Celia, Isn't it amazing that one statement like that is all it takes? Why is it so hard for all of the other docs to realize that there may be more to it than meets the eye? what a gem! Can you clone him and share? Glad you found him. Guest guest
Celia That is great to hear. I think there is more awareness of the functions and importance of the mitochondria. Hopefully all the ones who have told us over the years that it was in our heads, will have to take refresher courses on this topic or not keep their licenses. I'm glad you had a positive experience. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 10 Feb 2005 18:58:57 -0000 > To: > Subject: Funny Mito story > > > > Groupies, I must tell you of a funny, but kind of nice experience I > had the other day when I was having my hypothyroidism checked out by > an endocrinologist (never seen one before dispite the 17 years of > hypothyroidism and other problems.
