I lucked out on jury duty. I was called after being a registered voter for

more years than many of you have been alive. I called after getting my

letter and asked if the court-room was accessible. They said that they could

get me in through another court-room and the judges chambers. Then I asked

about the waiting room for the jurors - the door was too narrow. I guess

this means, hope for an old court-house.

It really depends on the county or town. Some people get excuses all

day about not being able to be on a jury, so they're tired of people

lying.

I would never write " mitochondrial disease " as a cause for being

disabled - no one knows what that means. Try " neuromuscular disease "

instead.

Remember that if you get asked to serve frequently, chances are that

they have a very small jury pool or lots of people manage not to

serve. I was told that teachers can get out of serving indefinitely,

even in the summer (!).

Take care,
