Guest guest
Jeannie, Thank you for sharing your story. So many parents are afraid to try the diet because it sounds too hard and I find that extremely frustrating. The first couple of months are hard and you are bound to make mistakes in the beginning, but it gets easier. We've been on the diet for only 3 months and it has been awhile since we made a mistake. (The last slip-up was when we let our son play with Play- doh. It has wheat in it.) With each slip-up my son has a 9 day regression (days 3-7 being the worst). Over the three months we've seen a lot of improvement. There is no more repetitive speech, he is much more responsive, has better eye contact and most importantly, he has begun to learn again. You may already be doing this, but just in case you aren't, I would advise you to keep daily diet journal and track everything from eye contact to bowel movements. I always write down the supplements he gets and how much, his mood, etc.. This really helps, particularly when you start adding supplements, or think you may have had a slip- up. Hang in there and good luck. Michele in land Mother to 3 1/2 HFA and 8 mos. > Hello everyone, > My name is Jeannie.
