i don't think it works like that, you have to have had the vaccine or been

exposed to and had at least a mild version of the disease b4 you would have

a titre to it.

Actually, I think that isn't correct - I am no doctor, so don't quote

me, but I think that some folks have a natural immunity to certain

diseases (Like my hubby has a natural immunity to Chicken Pox

although he has never had them) His titer levels proved that. I have

had Chicken Pox as a child so I think our kids may have a natural

protection that they inherited from us. (Someday I will check this

with a blood test)

Also, I believe Karyn Seroussi mentioned this in her book that her

Measles immunity could have been passed on to her son (also the fact

that she was given a booster shot while in the hospital immediately

after giving birth and then breastfed her son) and therefore when he

got the MMR it was like an extreme overdose for him.

I don't know, but I would think that a simple blood test would give

information about titers. The question being if there is no titer

level do you then vaccinate..... I wouldn't, but that's my opinion.

I plan to check my daughter's titers - but I don't think we would be

vaccinating even if she didn't show immunity.

Anyway - if anybody knows the ins and outs of titers I would be very

interested.

Thanks
