Guest guest
She told me that I do have Epstein-Barr Virus and that is why I'm feeling so tired and sick all the time. Hi, I was diagnosed with CFS and Epstein-Barr virus and was tired all the time, out of work, low activity level, etc... They had tested me with a Glucose Tolerance test before this diagnosis, which was normal(border line really), instead of retesting this, in a month, I didn't have another one until a year later. I am hypoglycemic and almost passed out during the test. My sugar went to 49, you pass out at 30-40! I was so sick! All I had to do to feel better was learn how to eat like a hypoglycemic, which I wasn't. Three meals a day is a NO NO for me. I must eat small meals 6 times a day. When I was really sick with it, on and off during my life, I need to eat two crackers and 1/2 a cup of OJ in the middle of the night. It just depends, but now I know what was wrong and how to help myself. I lost a whole year to the wrong diagnosis! Please have a GT Test done, and not a three hour, a six hour, the test is long but worth it! Before I was so tired and out of it, my vision was even effected and I was so moody! That all changed with the proper diet! Now, I am looking into the GF thing with my children. Good Luck,Laurie Renke

When I was about 13 we spent Thanksgiving at my Step-Dad's parents house and my Grandma always checked my Great Grandpa's blood sugar since he was a diabetic. I went ahead and let her do the finger stick on me and she said my blood sugar was very low. Do you crave sweets if you are Hypoglycemic? They did test me for Diabetes but it was fine. Do I need to see a specialist for this test? I don't eat very good at all, am ALWAYS tired, just plain yucky feeling and don't sleep good sometimes. I've been on the diet somewhat with my boys, but I don't take the supplements they do. Have him run a 6 hour GT test. Then find a great NUTRITIONIST! They will be the one to help you the most! But regardless of the GT test, it may come out wrong on a good day. Try eating this way, I can help more if you need it. And do it for a week and see what happens. Small amounts of the right foods, every two hours. Stay away from Juice and real fruit too! >> Thank you Laurie for the information. I am scheduled to see a new thyroid doctor (I had half of my thyroid taken out due to cancer) and will ask about the test. I know I need to eat better, but it's so hard when you crave sweets the way I do. When you go on this low sugar diet, eating every two hours(small amounts), " IF " you are Hypoglycemic, like my son and I!! You will have a " HUGE " withdrawal, and crave even worse, for like 5 days! BUT, if you keep to a low sugar diet, strictly, you will not crave it the same as before, I SWEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But one " BIG " slip and you will have to go back through the 5 days(maybe 3 if you catch it right away!) of huge cravings. I can honestly say, that when I am being good with my sugar levels, I eat right, lose weight and feel great, without thinking about the nearest bakery every minute. When I cheat, I dream of Chocolate and Sweets!!!!!!!!!!! I even have to be careful not to put so much sugar in my coffee. OR I crave that! So there is hope that you will be able to do this!!!!!!! Being a Hypoglycemic can be a very tiring, and cranky life!!!! Ha Ha!! Please let me know what happens!!! GOD BLESS, Laurie Renke
