Guest guest
Lora My son participated in a program last summer. And one of the noticeable effects was increased " appropriate " speech and increased speech in general. His balance also improved. I'm not sure how your program will be run but ours (in NYC) had 2 pschycologists throughout the program from start to finish and she interviewed us prior to acceptance in the program. Another good point was that each child and horse was generally accompanied by no less than 3 people. We had a few physio therapists on board as well. The children were also taught how to groom the horses. Good luck with it! > >Reply-To: GFCFKids >To: GFCFKids > >Subject: Hippotherapy >Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2001 16:36:52 -0500 > >Hi !! Guest guest
Lora, (3 1/2 asd) has had several courses(with another one coming up this spring) of Hippotherapy. He REALLY enjoys it. He is very interactive and verbal while on the horse. Also, he is low tone and it helps him build upper body strength. When he first started, he slumped down and could barely hold himself up. Now, he rides tall in the saddle just like a little miniature Wayne! So cute! :-) Pat and in Ohio
