Guest guest
I'm sorry, but I'm confused. What do peptide levels have to do with Chelation? My understanding is that peptide levels will increase if there is an intolerance to gluten and casein and that once on the diet, the peptides will fall within an acceptable range. The diet then needs to be maintained until the intolerance, which can be cause by mercury poisoning, is eradicated. Chelation is used to rid the body of heavy metals. Therefore, you wouldn't want to go off the diet until the chelation therapy no longer showed metals being dumped in the urine. At which point the intolerance to gluten and casein would go away. (Assuming all steps to heal the gut were taken (i.e. antifungals). I'm not trying to be smart, I just want to make sure my understanding is accurate. I've been so overwhelmed by all this information and I finally thought I had it figured out. Michele in land > Back on Feb. 21st I flew my son out to see Dr. Holmes. We are still waiting a few more weeks to get all of the tests back before she sends us her protocol for him. I asked her about her son and him being off of the GFCF Diet since Oct. She said they do periodic testing on him and no peptides show up in the results. This really intrigued my husband and he thought that maybe before we start Dr. Holmes's protocol that we should get a peptide test to see where my son's levels are before and after her chelation. When we origonally started the diet we did not think of getting a peptide test done on him and after he was on it we brought the idea up to his DAN doctor and he said it wouldn't do much good at this point because he is already on the diet (I could go on about his DAN Dr. and his chelation of my son with minimal effect but I won't. I'll be good). Anyone out there that has been to see her already, what are your thoughts on this? Is it a good idea? I would hate to tramatize my son and spend all this money to do the test if it wasn't nessecary. I guess what we are trying to figure out is where is his gut at now and where will it be after he has been on Dr. Holmes's chelation for a while. I told her we are using her son as a guinea pig to see what happens with him before we ever consider taking him off of the diet. Sorry this is so longgggggg! > > >
