Guest guest
GFCF group: I unsubbed a few weeks ago due to volume and, frankly, being a little overwhelmed. Now I'm back because I need some help & am not sure where else to go! I gave my 5-1/2-year-old twins their first tablet of Flouritab, a flouride supplement this morning. It is dye-free so I didn't expect any problems. Later in the day, I noticed some unusual behaviors, some language confusion, etc. I thought about all of the gfcf things the kids had eaten that I was pretty sure were okay. I couldn't figure out anything suspect until I remembered the flouride. I know I've heard of flouride's being troublesome for some on the spectrum. Anybody know why or have more info? E.g. if I switched brands, might that help? Cheryl in MO (P.S. We have well water so the kids' dentist suggested flouride now while their permanent teeth are forming.) ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Hi The only thing I know about flouride is that there are two kinds : One is a naturally ocurring flouride and the other is a chemical soup kind that they put in most water, along with chlorine. I opt for bottled water now and watch out for flouride in the toothpaste. My son used to eat it alot and I didn't realize just how bad it was for him until I started the diet, reading and joining the e-groups. kelly
Guest guest
Hi, I don't know if this would work for you, but there's a water called " Trinity " water that some health food grocers carry that has high levels of naturally occurring flouride in it. In fact, it says on the label to limit children to 2 cups a day so they don't get too much flouride. It is also alkaline, don't know if the pH would be a problem for you either. They have a website if you need more info to ask your doctor. HTH, ----- Original Message -----
