Guest guest
I just got off the phone with CIDEM, Dr. Hoppel's lab in Cleveland. I was so surprised that I was able to speak with one the people who actually worked on my biopsy, as well as, 's biopsy. I asked her about the findings in my biopsy report and she was able to give me some insight about the findings. The increased rare foci and increased lipd production is definetly a sign of muscle breakdown. The lab findings support the Mito dx even tho they usually don't see Complex II-III def. be mtDNA defects------- and I know all about that, hugh???!!! She has the same family dx that we have w/ a II-III def. Anyway, she told me that the muscle problems I am now having are probably related directly to the Mito and we all know that " natural aging " is caused by Mitochondrial deterioration to start with. So the muscle weakness and probably myoclonus (probably NOT RLS) is to blame for the trouble I am having. I am off to call Dr. Cohen to see what insight he can provide. I am just stiil amazed that you can call CIDEM and speak to someone who actually REMEBERS you and your actual lab results. She actually remembered what 's report said and that was done back in 1998! Guest guest
I am so happy for you that you are beginning to get some answers. Aren't minds that remember wonderful. My MDA doc is like that. He may not remember if something is true of or I or both, but he remembers things from years past. I sure wish my mind worked half as well. Good luck with your appointment with Dr. Cohen. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Fri, 21 Jan 2005 15:22:19 -0000 > To: > Subject: CIDEM > > > I just got off the phone with CIDEM, Dr. Hoppel's lab in Cleveland.
