We have also had very good results with Brainchild. We switched after 3

years on super nu thera to Spectrum Support III. He's been on the

Brainchild supplements for just a year now. I have a lot of respect for

the man who runs Brainchild, who is a nutritionist and dad of two kids on

the spectrum, and has really done his homework. I believe my child's gut

is healing some as a result of these supplements.

We used the Brainchild vitamins for about a month for our 8.5 year old

identical twins... we were only on 1/24th of a dose and both the boys threw

up them up intermittently until we stopped... maybe on an empty stomach was

the issue or being combined with their other meds... I am going to try it

again after a meal or major snack with just one guy... for my sake.

Sorry to hear this -- what a shame! Have you talked w/Brainchild abt

this? I'm sure they'd try to help figure out why.

  • 3 weeks later...

Ann,

We've used Brainchild SSIII for a year now and I haven't seen loose stools,

but I think that whenever you're introducing ANYTHING new, loose stools and

similar small problems are common. My rule of thumb is, if I'm not sure

he's really settled into a new supplement I wait a few days. I've found

we're much happier doing this. I tell myself: it's not a race, it's a

journey, and this is my child, not a guinea pig.

Hi Ann:

I suppose that there are components of the vitamins that could cause loose

stools...I would recommend though that you call or email Lang about

this. He is extremely caring and helpful, along the lines of what we all

expect from the Kirkman family. I am confident he will help you sort this

out.

my son (we've been on diet and supplements for about 6 months) had loose stools

after starting supplements. when i asked dr. holmes about it, she cited the

possibility of too much vitamin c (he was taking 2 a day and we cut back to once

a day) and he was taking three " citramin II " capsules with breakfast and we cut

back to just one of those. his stools were immediately fine after that. maybe

it's just too much of one of the supplements. i don't know which ones

specifically your child is on. but with my little boy he had loose stools every

day for several weeks and after we made this modification, it went away.

hope this helps-
