Guest guest
Hi Ann-Marie, I think the problem is the intestines. I do get obstruction from time to time. I am trying desperately to lose weight, but for the last five years it has been impossible. No matter what I do I go no where. I think if I did lose weight some of my trouble would be alleviated. I have wondered about some type of hernia. What do you do for the thigh pain. My hips hurt also. Weird huh! Sometimes when I walk it is if the muscles are not holding the hips or pelvic area in place, they kind of wobble in and out. Sometimes I wonder if all this is mito or we are overlooking something else. When you hear other people say they have the same thing it validates your pain. Guest guest
In reference to feeling like the muscle don't hold the hips in place. This is possible. The weaker your muscles get, the more likely that your pelvis can slip out of alignment. Some mito pts cans till tol strengenthing ex's. You should mention this to you Dr and ask to go to physical therapy to learn some very easy, basic hip strenthening exersices that you can do at home within your own tolerence level. Guest guest
-Dear Groupies, i agree with . last year my hip muscles were in really bad shape, not really supporting me, giving me an unsteady gait, but my physio got me going on a whole lot of hip strengthening exercises- not too many reps, not too strenuous (she knows my limitations) but these have really helped my whole hip stability. She also has me doing some shoulder exercises which have really helped with pain in this area. balance exercises have helped alot too. My physio follows the recommendationf on this site for physio- not too many reps, and very gradually increasing the resistance of the exercises, in an attmep to increase my strength. I have to admit the exercises tire me out at the time, but i think it has been worth it, Celia--
