Guest guest
High levels of B vitamins can cause hyperactivity. Many times the hyperactivity will go away after a few days or with additional magnesium. However often the hyperactive reaction is to the flavors and the sweeteners in the SNT (about 20%). For this reason we have hypoallergenic versions of SNT. These new products have worked well for most kids that were hyperactive on the original version. We have also just added a liquid SNT with P5P with a hypoallergenic flavor (harder than it sounds to do) It will be interesting to see if it provides additional benefits. We are always happy to discuss any product - ours or others - to try to find things that help. We try to answer calls and emails promptly - many days we have over 1000 telephone calls and emails and we can get behind. Some good news: A major treatment clinic for Autism is opening in Portland Oregon. It will exc;usively children with autism. We expect to be able to treat over 1000 children with experienced Doctors. The clinic is expected to open on July 1st. The clinic is being funded in part by the Northwest Autism Foundation. They are a very good group that plan to also support autism research and Doctor training. Please give us a call if you have questions. Re: sleep medications, EPD I think I can say for the majority of us that this is a comon occurance. My son also has sleeping problems. Normal bed time 1-2 AM and then he will wake at about 3:30, go back to bed at 5. Then re-wake at 9. Anyway, point I'm getting at is, have you tried epsim salt?(sorry spelling is wrong) We started this last week and by gosh! It's working! I now know the beacause we ran out 2 days ago and last night he woke up again at 3:30. You may want to give it a try, it's vary cheap, like $2 a box. This lasted us almost a week. I have heard others talking about a specific SNT and how it was causing hyper-activity. If I can remember right, you may want to try the ?hypo-alergenic? SNT. There was a guy here a while ago named Dave from Kirkmans, he was always helpfull when it came to vitamin questions. Maybe if you put SNT-Dave in the subject, it would catch his eye :-) The sugar thing sound like the yeast beastie's going nuts, so to say. My son also went through masive sugar cravings when we started yeast treatment. hopefully this won't last to long for your little guy! Can't tell you much more about the yeast issue, we stoped treatment after a couple weeks of vary bad bm's and other problems. We have yet to re-start. Hope some of this helps. Mom to " Robby 5 " 4 and 1 sleep medications, EPD I have a few questions. First, my son has a major sleep problem - difficulty falling asleep but much more difficulty staying asleep. If he wakes up- he is wired and up the rest of the night. OI've had no success with behavioral strategies. I've tried melatonin, chlonidine, calcium/magnesium, zinc and finally respirodol. He takes 0.5 cc before bed. He still wakes up but does go back to bed without a major problem. Last week I went to a new doctor who suggested L-Tryptophan. I tried 1/2 tab thrn 1 tab but he still woke up wired and couldn't sleep past 3:00 am. I guess I'm back to respiridol which I have mixed feelings about and concern about the long term effects. Does anyone have any suggestions of someting I may be missing. has been GFCF for about 6-8 months (many setbacks) Yeast and sugar free for close to it for 5 weeks. He takes SNT, TMG,probitoics, yeast control, CLO. He still wakes up anxious with huge sugar cravings. Lastly, has anyone had success with Enzyme potentiated Desenstization. My doctor recommends we try this for . it seem like an overwhelming undertaking. We are testing for heavy metal toxicity as well
