Guest guest
Could be the difference in the acoustical environment. My daughter has ENORMOUS variance in her tolerance of certain sounds, even as often as from a morning to an afternoon in the same environment. She also has a very definite avoid-approach issue that can be obsessive; desperately begging for me to turn the vacuum on, and leave it on for lengths of time; the next thing I know, she won't enter the room if it's there & not on. I think it's a regulatory issue with the auditory hyperacusis. And she's better than she was before Berard AIT 3 yrs ago. OT:Hearing sensitivity > Our 4 yo son has forbidden me to vacuum since last summer. If I try to when he is in the house he cries very hard with real big tears and appears to be very traumatized. Same thing with use of the microwave or listening to the answer machine. But at school they run a vacuum, microwave and my sons aide says he will look that direction but carry on with whatever he is doing. Today when I picked him up from the center he was listening to an answering machine. Do you think this is a control issue or maybe our appliances are louder than the schools. He seemed to become more hearing sensitive since having yeast treatments. Thanks > > >
