Guest guest
Well all, I went to see the radiaton oncologist, she was awesome, she was suprised by my young age (here i thought i was getting old) but im actually considered young for what i have. Well the bad news is it might not even be in the lung itself, it is in the area of the lung in between where the lungs meet (still considered lung), where all your important lymp nodes are. She said i cannot wait till june 6th to see the pulmo surgeon, she will talk to him and get me a sooner appt., and i now also need to see a chemo oncologist and they will work as a team. I do need the pet scan (which i knew that was coming), she needs to know if this is cancer like an old smoker person of age 70 would have or if this is a cancer of someone who is a light smoker or exposed to carcinigenics. Im hoping this will be the light smoker scenerio. I also need a Mri of the whole body and a bone scan of the whole body and major blood work. I am mentally exhausted. I am physically exhausted, i told her i will fight if they can cure me. And the word IF is hanging in the balance at this point. basically im one sick puppy, and my medical condition is very complexed. The area size is actually 3 inches, alot more than 1st thought. Im getting to the pissed off stage so im gonna go now. Hugs, Barb
Guest guest
Barb, just try keep good thoughts, I do know from first hand experience that the radiation onocologist's and the onocologists for chemo do definitely work hand in hand. I have had a body scan once and a full body MRI once but (so far) I have never had a PET scan. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and also request prayers from my church. Guest guest
Barb I like your fighting spirit and that will help you. It sounds like you have a doctor who cares about her patients - that is great. I have an idea that I am going to throw out - nix it or think on it, or go with it - it is your choice. Since most of us have not met, I thought an image of something you like, such as a butterfly would give all of us something to picture when thinking those positive thoughts. I know some people with cancer and those who didn't even know them were able to be supportive. This group can send lots of positive energy since they are such supportive and caring people. If this sounds like a good idea, just let us know what image you want us to use. Guest guest
I think Laurie has a great idea, I wish we could all have something but a mental picture of each other. Guest guest
Barb, I’m so sorry. This must have been terrible to hear from the oncologist. I’m glad you liked her as it sounds as if you are going to be working with her and her team for a while. Half the battle is feeling good about the doctor. It’s tough to stay positive when you hear what you heard today but you still found something positive to say. This is amazing and I applaud your courage. We’re here 24/7 for you and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Alice -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
