probiotics definition vs. acidophilus,etc

Hi All:

I have a question regarding the term probiotic. Is this the good bacteria,

like acidophilus plus (from Kirkman's) or is this another product? I have

heard several names of products, like ProBioGold and others, are these

similar to acidophilus or should it be given together? Thanks!
