Guest guest
You think he is a " problem " . My previous neurologist kept insisting that I go to Lawrence, KS approx 35 miles from Topeka for a " Botox " shot in my right hand to take care of the nerve/tendon situation I have. Twice he set up an appt with this person, in Lawrence and twice I told him that I have no way to get to Lawrence, so if this is something you feel I require for my hand then, please st up an appt for me with someone in Topeka. Both times he had a tantrum and went into his office and slammed the door. When Dr. Baker called him about his findings concerning a possible/probabal Mytochondrial Dysfunction (my neurosurgeon has now updated the Dysfunction to a Myopathy), at any rate he called and tried to talk to my previous neurologist about this and he was told that by him that, " he had nothing to talk with him about as he is not a neurologist, but if/when he should ever have a question about my orthpedic problems, he will give him a call " and promptly hung up on him! Dr. Baker got me in with Dr. Welch (who several doctors had told my Grandson to have me start seeing), I was told that there are at least three doctors in Topeka that give Botox shots, but one wouldn't do anything for my right hand as it would require minor surgery to correct the problem and for me to regain full use of it. So, I know exactly how you feel about bullheaded doctors!! Steve micro_choice@...> wrote:FWIW the doctor at MGH Neurology that I'm having such trouble with is Dr. Didier Cros. There's another doctor in his group, Dr. Seth Kaufman, who is far and away the most arrogant annoying doctor I have ever " met " (he WOULDN'T give me his name). A sample from this latter: Standing in the doorway, as he was leaving, he first noticed that my wife was sitting next to me. He said to her, and I quote EXACTLY, " OK, you're the wife or something, right? Do you have any questions? " and then dashed out the door during the first few words of my wife's first question. There's also an MDA clinic at MGH, probably across the hall from Dr. Cros. I asked Dr. Cros' office to ask Dr. Cros to refer me there, but she said there would be no point, because the doctor there was on sabbatical. Since I had been to the website beforehand, I asked and she confirmed, that she was talking about Dr. Brown. This MDA clinic apparently specializes in ALS. Guest guest
Steve, I don't believe you need a referral to go to MDA clinic, unless you have insurance that would pay for the visit. Guest guest
Steve- You don't need a referrel to an MDA clinic and you can go to one that is outside of your geographical area. I do this in order to see the one I want to see. laurie On Mon, 7 Mar 2005 13:37:58 -0800 (PST), Dolores doloresskeet@...> wrote: > > You think he is a " problem " . Guest guest
Steve, Sorry about all of your problems and bull headed, know it all Doctors that you have come in contact with. About the MDA Clinic specializing in ALS, that is nothing new, more and more MDA Clinics are now including ALS patients. With the research that ALS's does the Mito world MAY very well benefit from it. I believe that we will find that " needle in the haystack " from another disorder. Is there any other MDA Clinics in your area since the Doctor at this one is on sabbatical? Good Luck Ann-Marie Re: Dr Korson > > What is the name of the mito doc at MGH?
